Short bio…
In 2019, the dark electro act, SPANKTHENUN burst onto the scene delivering tracks remixed by industrial heavy weights; Leaether Strip, Angelspit, Assemblage 23, ESA and Slighter and an album mixed and produced by Scott Fox of iVardensphere.
Determined to make their mark, SPANKTHENUN has delivered more than 60 tracks in the last year and shows no signs of slowing down. Less than eight months since the last album, the dark electro artist has delivered a new remix album Glitch Burn Sin and a brand new album of new tracks, THE BUNKER TAPES VOL II, mixed by legendary EBM producer, and immortal badass, Claus Larsen.
As appreciation to the work Claus has contributed to EBM and Industrial over the years, SPANKTHENUN donated all pre-order proceeds from this new album to Claus to help him take care of the love of his life and his medical needs, Kurt.

Long Bio…
THE BUNKER TAPES VOL II, is the second in a series of planned releases with a very particular sound that veers slightly from the sounds of previous SPANKTHENUN releases. The theme that runs through this release is a dark interpretation that takes us through the transition and the rise of a totalitarian government and the demise of democracy as we know it. The rule and chaos it brings and the fight to resist it. The album plays as an archeological discovery of a future distant people trying to piece together the history of the past and understand what went wrong in 2020.
"I had great fun mixing this release for the SPANKTHENUN. I feel I have a connection in the way they approach their songwriting. A “punky” sort of way, spontaneous, positive, and a focus on the energy and beat. I see a great future for them." - Claus Larsen
The band has been very productive during the pandemic and worldwide covid shutdown, releasing an updated cover of the KMFDM classic industrial track VIRUS at the height of the lockdown. SPANKTHENUN has been locked in the studio (aka bunker) cranking out new material for months, they have also worked with a dozen other artists (Assemblage 23, NEGANT, Claus Larsen, John Mirland and more to be announced) on collaborations and remixes for these new tracks... the results are being split across two separate releases... THE BUNKER TAPES VOL I and THE BUNKER TAPES VOL II, the second release is scheduled for early 2021 release.
Following on the heels of the release in April of the new single VIRUS, a reimaging and updated version of the classic club hit VIRUS by legendary Industrial band KMFDM, SPANKTHENUN released a 15 track remix album, GLITCH BURN SIN.
This album, released in July, takes three of their most popular songs off of the Initial Decay Control album released in January, and gives them the remix treatment. Artists like MARTIN KING, SLIGHTER, ESA, DIVERJE, STAHLSCHLAG, TOOTHPINCH, DEPRESSIVE DISORDER, IMPERFEXION helped SPANKTHENUN to teardown and reconstruct new visions of these powerful tracks.
The new release, The Bunker Tapes Vol I is a reflection back into our own souls in a time when we are forced to be locked down and sheltering in place like an impossible nightmare of death and fear. This is the 8th official release from SPANKTHENUN. The album was written in Los Angeles, Produced in Dallas, TX by SPANKTHENUN and Mixed and Mastered in Germany by Claus Larsen. Each week leading up to the release on 9/11, SPANKTHENUN will premiere a new track each Sunday via the show DARK INDULGENCE and then feature a b-side remix of that same track on the following Monday on Communion After Dark.
The first single Dominate premiered in video format on REGEN Magazine. The video is dark and ominous and perfectly visualizes the sound of the new track as it was culled from the ashes of the pandemic.Once thought to be a vision of an impending Utilitarian regime and a spread of hate and lies, now is an everyday reality made true.
